If you haven’t had a chance to see the lush greenery growing on the new St. Paul Fire Department Station No. 1, here’s a great opportunity! The Fort Road Federation is sponsoring a West End Neighbors’ Garden Tour on Saturday, June 18th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. In addition to more than a dozen beautiful ground-level gardens, attendees will get to see one of the newest and most diversely planted green roofs in the state. With a strong focus on public education, the green roof features native Minnesota plant species, an underground cistern that captures rainwater for irrigation, and a garden where firefighters grow their own vegetables.
The fire station is located at 1000 7th St. West. For more information on the tour, visit the Fort Road Federation’s website. We hope to see you there!
