FREE June 3 Green Roof Tour

Students at Cleveland Farnsworth Aerospace Magnet School, Cindy Schreiber’s class, have been working hard organizing a Green Roof Tour and they would like you to join them.  We will tour the following spaces:

Kevin and Roxanne Flynn’s home in Highland Park
2199 Pinehurst Ave, St. Paul, 55116
Kevin, an architect, will be there to explain his self installed modular green roof system.

The Phillips Eco-Enterprise Center (Green Institute)
2801 21st Ave S, Minneapolis, 55407
A representative from The Kestrel Design Group will be on site to explain this green roof.  We will also be touring Eco-Yard Midtown, an earth-friendly demonstration site with native plantings.  Ellen Soanes of Hennepin County will guide the Eco-Yard Midtown tour.

Community of Peace Academy

Dr. Rusthoven, principal at the Academy, will lead a tour of the green roof’s labyrinth.

The bus will leave from Cleveland Farnsworth at 9:30 am and return at 1:45 pm

Bring a sack lunch, ride the school bus, and learn about extensive green roofs and the plants that cover them.  You are also welcome to drive your own car and follow the bus – but, really, what fun is that?  Please carpool as much as possible.
