Please join the Minnesota Green Roofs Council for a 2013 International Low Impact Development Symposium wrap-up lecture highlighting green roofs as a storm water tool. We are pleased to host Dr. Elizabeth Fassman-Beck, who will share her experience establishing the first retrofit green roof in Auckland, New Zealand and developing green roof design standards through a research program at the University of Auckland. Dr. Fassman-Beck will also present some highlights of her book-in-progress, which explores the best ways to foster communication between landscape architects and engineers during the design, construction, and maintenance of green roofs to manage stormwater runoff.

The event will start with an informal tour of the new St. Paul Fire Station #1 green roof followed by the lecture in the Fire Station Conference Room. St. Paul Fire Station #1 is located at 1000 West 7th Street in St. Paul and is easily accessed from the Saint Paul RiverCentre by Metro Transit bus routes 74 or 54.  Street parking is also available.
